Candles: large selection of scented and decorative candles : faites le bon choix

Some objects can transform the atmosphere of a room in seconds. The candle is one of them.

Lighting a candle is almost a ritual act. The light shifts, the space warms up, a fragrance lingers — and suddenly the mood changes. A candle does not really illuminate; it reveals. It accentuates the textures of a room, gives depth to shadows, makes the light flicker and creates that subtle movement that brings a space to life. At Lumeers, our candle collection spans a wide range: scented candles in natural soy wax, beeswax pillar candles, tealights, decorative unscented candles, and colourful table candles — in all sizes for every season.

Scented or unscented candles: which should you choose?

This is often the first question, and the answer depends mainly on how you want to use them.

A scented candle creates a complete sensory experience — both light and fragrance at once. It is perfect for the living room, bedroom, or bathroom. In the

Be mindful of fragrance intensity. A strongly scented candle in a small space can quickly feel overwhelming. Regularly ventilate and choose scents to suit your room's size — a large, strongly scented candle for a spacious lounge, a small tealight for compact rooms.

An unscented candle is ideal if you want the warmth of candlelight without interfering with other scents in the room — incense, essential oil diffusers, cooking aromas — or if you are sensitive to artificial fragrances. They are also a great choice for dining tables, where heavy fragrances can compete with the flavours of your dishes.

Soy wax, beeswax, paraffin: which wax is right for your candle?

Soy wax is the most popular choice for modern artisan candles. Plant-based, it burns slower and cleaner than paraffin, produces less soot, and holds fragrance better. Soy wax candles typically last longer than the same size in paraffin. It's the top choice for high-quality scented candles.

Beeswax is the oldest and most natural wax. It burns even cleaner than soy, has its own gentle honey scent without added fragrance, and gives a steady, golden flame. Beeswax candles are often more expensive but also more durable. They suit anyone allergic to synthetic fragrances or looking for natural products.

Paraffin remains the most common for decorative candles and tealights. Less premium than soy or beeswax but more affordable, it allows for a wide variety of shapes and colours. For purely decorative use — colourful pillar candles, table candles for parties — paraffin is often the best fit.

Candles and interior styling: how to display them?

A single candle is enough to set the mood — but a group of candles in varying heights and holders is far more striking. Combine different styles — a tall pillar candle, two or three tealights, a votive in a glass — the change in height and glow adds appealing visual depth.

The colours of your candles can enhance your table or room decor. White or ivory candles always look elegant; terracotta or ochre candles suit warm, natural interiors; black candles work amazingly in bold modern spaces.

Never leave a burning candle unattended, and always place your candle in a holder or on a heat-resistant surface.
