La suspension bar trace une ligne de lumière nette et structurée, idéale pour rythmer l’espace sans l’alourdir.

La suspension bar s’impose comme la solution d’éclairage privilégiée pour les cuisines ouvertes, les îlots centraux ou les comptoirs. Son format allongé, généralement compris entre 60 et 150 cm de longueur, permet d’éclairer uniformément une zone de travail ou de repas tout en dessinant une perspective élégante. Les modèles de suspension bar se déclinent en version linéaire simple, multi-sources ou modulables, avec des hauteurs réglables de 30 à 120 cm pour s’adapter à la configuration de chaque pièce. Ce type de luminaire offre un éclairage direct, souvent orienté vers le bas, idéal pour éviter les ombres portées sur le plan de travail ou la table. Les puissances varient de 15 à 40 W en LED, soit un flux lumineux de 1200 à 4000 lumens selon la longueur et le nombre de sources, garantissant un confort visuel optimal sans éblouissement.

Quels matériaux et finitions pour une suspension bar ?

Suspension bar en métal : Le métal, qu’il soit acier brossé, aluminium anodisé ou laiton, assure robustesse et modernité. Les finitions noires ou dorées s’intègrent dans des intérieurs contemporains ou industriels. Un modèle en métal de 100 cm pèse en moyenne 2 à 4 kg, facile à installer sur une dalle béton ou un plafond en placo renforcé.

Suspension bar en bois : Le bois massif ou plaqué, souvent chêne ou noyer, apporte une touche chaleureuse et scandinave. Les suspensions bar en bois sont idéales pour adoucir une cuisine blanche ou un espace minimaliste. Privilégier un traitement hydrofuge si la suspension bar est placée au-dessus d’un évier ou d’une zone humide.

Suspension bar en verre : Les diffuseurs en verre opalin ou fumé offrent une lumière plus douce et homogène. Un tube en verre de 120 cm diffuse 3000 à 3500 lumens en LED, parfait pour une salle à manger de 10 à 15 m². À quelle hauteur installer une suspension bar ?

La hauteur de pose d’une suspension bar conditionne à la fois le confort visuel et l’esthétique de la pièce. Au-dessus d’un îlot central ou d’un bar, la hauteur idéale se situe entre 80 et 100 cm du plateau, soit environ 150 à 170 cm du sol fini. Cette distance évite l’éblouissement tout en assurant un éclairage ciblé. Pour une table à manger, abaisser la suspension bar à 70-80 cm du plateau permet de créer une zone lumineuse conviviale sans gêner la vue des convives.
