A thickness of 180–250 g/m² keeps the shape and ensures vivid colour. For bedrooms, washable fabric at 30°C is best, especially if the shade might collect dust or fingerprints.

Caring for your lampshade and styling tips

Clean a fabric coloured lampshade with a soft brush or microfibre cloth. For stains, use a bleach-free fabric cleaner. For paper shades, stick to dry cleaning only. Keep bold shades out of direct sun to preserve brightness, especially vivid colours.

Style-wise, a coloured lampshade pairs beautifully with a multicolour floor lamp for a maximalist effect, or with plain cushions and curtains for balance.
