Most dimmable spots work with standard wall dimmers or smart home systems, so you can easily set the perfect ambience—from bright task lighting to soft, relaxing light. Choose from recessed (diameter 68–90 mm, depth 4–8 cm) or adjustable options on rails or plates, ideal for highlighting features or creating even general lighting. Certain models have adjustable colour temperature (from 2700K warm white to 4000K neutral white), and a colour rendering index above 80—every technical detail matters for premium results.

Which dimmable spotlights for each room?

LED spotlights: LED technology leads the way in

Recessed spotlights: Ideal for a minimalist look, these are built into false ceilings or stretch ceilings. Opt for a 75 mm diameter in rooms smaller than 10 m², and up to 90 mm for larger spaces. Always check the required depth for your ceiling thickness and insulation. Some models offer up to 30° tilt—perfect for highlighting artwork or workspaces.

Designer spotlights: For contemporary interiors, dimmable spotlights come in brushed brass, matt black or satin white finishes. Models on plates or rails let you adapt lighting to your room layout, and 360° adjustable heads offer full flexibility. A great choice for open-plan living spaces or receptions where you want to play with lighting contrasts.

What wattage and colour temperature for a dimmable spotlight?

Power depends on your room size and needs. For a 20 m² living room, install 4 to 6 dimmable spotlights of 8 to 10W each (800 to 1000 lumens per spot) for main lighting. In the kitchen, a colour temperature of 3000–4000K creates bright, practical light. For bedrooms or relaxing spots, pick dimmable spots with adjustable brightness and colour—from warm white (2700K) to a more neutral tone as needed.

In bathrooms, use at least IP44 above basins or showers, with 7 to 9W per spotlight to avoid dark patches. Dimmable spotlights are ideal in multi-purpose spaces, allowing a bright light for morning routines and a softer glow in the evening.

Which materials and finishes for a dimmable spotlight?
