The double two-way light switch combines two independent controls on a single plate—saving space and creating a cohesive, streamlined look from the very first glance.

Two lighting circuits, one wall switch. That’s the beauty of a double two-way switch, offering a practical solution for everyday use. In a living room, it can operate the main ceiling light and the mood lighting separately. In a bedroom, you could control the central pendant and bedside wall lights independently. In a kitchen, manage the extractor fan and worktop lights separately. Whenever two lighting circuits are needed in one space, a double switch makes installation neater and simpler than using two separate switches.

Standard double switch or intermediate?

As with single switches, there are two types. The standard double controls each of its two circuits from a single location. The intermediate double—also known as double two-way—allows you to control both circuits from two different locations. This version is less common, but is ideal for large rooms with more than one entrance, or in open-plan spaces where flexible control is a benefit.

Our double switches are available in both standard and intermediate versions, depending on the finish. Please check your wiring before ordering: if your current setup is two-way switching, choose the intermediate version; for simple single-point switching, the standard model is all you need.

Finishes and styles available

Our collection of double switches comes in the same finishes as our complete range: matt black, brushed light grey, brushed dark grey, brushed gold, aged bronze, matt white and matt white and gold two-tone—all available with either straight or rounded edges, depending on the model.

The double switch is slightly wider than a single but fits a standard back box. Always check your existing back box’s size before ordering, especially if replacing a single switch with a double—you may need to enlarge the cut-out, which requires some wall work.

For a cohesive look, pair your double switches with sockets and single switches from the same collection and finish. It’s the easiest way to turn a functional electrical installation into a stylish feature of your room’s decor.
