What materials are best for globe lights?

Opal glass: Opal glass is the benchmark for a globe light that diffuses soft, glare-free light. A 30 cm hand-blown glass globe gives optimal lighting for a 10 to 15 m² room using an LED bulb of 800 to 1200 lumens. Frosted glass hides the bulb and prevents halos. For added sophistication, some designs pair glass with brass or chrome.

Lacquered metal: Globe lights in lacquered metal—often finished in black, white or gold—bring bold, graphic style to modern or industrial spaces.
