Brass lighting : faites le bon choix

Brass captures light like no other metal, revealing every detail of your interior.

Brass lighting makes a statement for those seeking both elegance and technical performance. This premium alloy of copper and zinc enchants with its subtle golden hue – never brash, never cold – and suits both classic and modern settings. You'll find brass on pendant lights, sculptural floor lamps, minimalist ceiling lights and graphic wall lights. Choose from polished, brushed or antique finishes for warm reflections and excellent durability against tarnishing. Brass lighting is at home in any room, from living room to bathroom, and is perfect for mixing materials such as glass, marble or wood for a stylish contrast.

Which brass lighting style is right for your space?

Pendant lights: Ideal for defining spaces, brass pendant lights range from 20 to 80 cm in diameter. For a 180 cm dining table, opt for a pendant of 40–60 cm, hung 75–90 cm above the surface. Multi-arm models can reach 2000–4000 lumens for ample general lighting. Matte or brushed finishes help prevent fingerprints and are perfect for high-traffic areas. For other pendant options, see our designer pendant lighting collection.

Ceiling lights: Brass ceiling lights are perfect for rooms with a lower ceiling (under 250 cm). A 30–50 cm model will provide 1200–2500 lumens – ideal for living rooms of 15–20 m². IP44 models suit bathrooms and kitchens. Choose opal diffusers for even lighting, or openwork frames for graphic shadow play. Wall lights: Brass wall lights are best placed 150–160 cm from the floor for mood or reading light. A brightness of 400–800 lumens is perfect for hallways or bedside use. Adjustable options direct light just where you need it. Antique brass fits vintage interiors, while polished brass enhances modern décors. For more material combinations, see our glass wall lights collection.

Floor lamps: Brass floor lamps, often height-adjustable (120–180 cm), provide extra light in a lounge or office. Look for 8–15 W LED (800–1500 lumens) for comfortable reading. Articulated arms or directional diffusers allow flexible lighting, while tripod bases provide great stability, even on carpets. For bold style, the designer floor lamps collection offers standout designs.

How to style brass lighting in every room

In the living room, use a brass pendant as a centrepiece or a floor lamp for a cosy corner. For a 20 m² space, aim for 2000–3000 lumens, divided between general and task lighting. Over the dining table, centre a brass pendant 80 cm above the surface to prevent glare. In bedrooms, choose brass wall lights with soft illumination (2700–3000 K) for a relaxing mood. In kitchens, an IP44 brass ceiling light handles humidity and is easy to clean. For bathrooms, opt for closed-diffuser IP44 models to meet safety standards. For tailored inspiration, browse our

Key technical tips for choosing brass lighting

The right brass light depends on your room size, ceiling height and style. Plan for 1000–1500 lumens per 10 m², rising to 2000–3000 lumens for 20 m². LED bulbs in E27 or G9 bases are most common and last 15,000–30,000 hours. Pick 2700–3000 K for warm ambience or 4000 K for a neutral look. Dimmable options let you control brightness. Brushed brass hides small scratches better than polished. For upkeep, dust regularly with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. Pair your brass lighting with gold lighting for a perfectly coordinated look.
