Ceiling height matters: a bedroom chandelier should provide at least 210 cm of clearance, which often means a total height (including suspension) of less than 40 cm in most rooms. For the main lighting, aim for 1000 to 2000 lumens, usually delivered by 2 or 3 LED bulbs of 7 to 10W each, in a warm white (2700 to 3000K) to maintain a restful atmosphere.

The best materials for bedroom chandeliers

Fabric chandeliers: These soften the light, creating a gentle glow that avoids glare. Cotton or linen models with diffusers provide the perfect relaxing ambience. Look for dust-resistant fabrics for easier upkeep, or washable fabric designs for children’s bedrooms.
